THE GRUFF STORY
Founded by narrative filmmakers in the heart of Los Angeles,
Gruff Studios was born from a simple observation: the "quality gap" between an actor’s talent and their branding assets was too wide. While the industry moved toward a digital-first casting model, most actors were still forced to settle for "home-movie" quality self-tapes and generic, flat-lit reels. We decided to change that.

we built a boutique studio dedicated to the "Network Look."
We don't just "record" sessions; we direct them. By bringing a professional 3-person crew, cinematic lighting, and elite post-production workflows—like DaVinci Resolve and Pro Tools—to every shoot, we ensure that every frame we deliver feels like a still from a prestige series.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Tristan is the creative lead of Gruff Studios. As a multi-hyphenate filmmaker, he oversees the entire lifecycle of a production, from the initial concept and cinematography to the final edit and sound design. -

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
If things are getting intense on set, Sam is the one you want at the helm. With 6 years of experience as an ER nurse, Sam is a master of high-stress environments, bringing a level of composure and precision to our operations that you just can't teach.

With experience as a director, producer, and 1st AD, Ryan brings a deep understanding of set dynamics and performer needs to every production. He is responsible for bridging the gap between creative ambition and operational reality, ensuring that projects are executed with precision, on schedule, and within budget.
